We are pleased to announce that the design pen “ZOOM C1”, released by Tombow Pencil Co., Ltd. (headquarters: Kita-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Akihiro Ogawa) has won the iF DESIGN AWARD 2025.

The award recipients are the following three items:
Retractable oil-based ballpoint pen black ink 0.5mm ball 7,700 JPY tax included
Retractable oil-based ballpoint pen black ink 0.7mm ball 7,700 JPY tax included
Retractable mechanical pencil 0.5 mm lead 7,700 JPY tax included

ZOOM C1 was released in spring 2023 as a rebranding of “ZOOM” launched in 1986, as a writing instrument series with a free and creative style that aims to be a” contemporary design pen made in Japan.”

The organizer of the award, iF International Forum Design, is based in Hanover, Germany and is the world’s longest-standing independent design organization with over 70 years of history. Each year, it selects outstanding designs and presents the iF DESIGN AWARD.
For the AWARD 2025, 131 design experts rigorously reviewed approximately 11,000 submitted designs from 66 countries and regions to determine the winners.
The awards are assessed based on the following five criteria and are judged based on a total score. Differentiation、Form、Function、Idea、Sustainability.（From iF International Forum design materials）

ZOOM C1 wins double crown.
ZOOM C1 has won two of the world’s three major design awards*: the iF design award (2025) and the reddot design award (2024).
