Tombow Pencil Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Kita-ku, Tokyo, President: Akihiro Ogawa) is refreshing the “MONO Air Pen Type” (5mm width x 6m length), a refillable pen-type correction tape that is surprisingly easy to apply for the entire length of the tape roll and is also economical, with a refreshing clear color. At the same time a “Cheek (blush) color” (limited edition) will be added and released on October 2nd at stationery stores and stationery counters nationwide.

 
The “MONO Air Pen Type Clear Color” has a transparent body and comes in four new colors: hydrangea, mint, cosmos, and lavender. Suggested retail price is 308 JPY each (280 JPY excluding tax). (The current black, blue, lime, and pink will be replaced with the new colors listed above. Mono color will continue to be sold).

 
The “MONO Air Pen Type Cheek Color,” to be released at the same time, is a limited-edition product using trendy cheek colors to create a milky body look. There are two types: Berry Cheek and Peach Cheek . The suggested retail price is 330 JPY each (300 JPY excluding tax).

Pen-type correction tape is popular as a study tool among students because it is slim, compact and lightweight and easy to carry in a pencil case.

“MONO Air Pen Type” Correction Tape Features
■Refillable pen type requiring surprisingly little effort to use for the entire tape length.
Incorporates an internal “Air Touch System” mechanism that requires surprisingly little effort to apply tape from beginning to end of the tape roll. The mechanism “engages” when the correction head touches the paper and “locks” when it is released, making tape application dramatically easier until the end of the tape roll. (Standard products require more effort to prevent the tape from sagging.)

■ Pen type so you always have it with you
The streamlined body is 112 mm long (when in use), 25 mm wide (maximum), and 21 mm thick. Can be easily carried in a pen case and is easy to take out of a vertical pen case.

 
■ Refillable to reduce disposable parts and improve cost performance
Tape is refillable and the main body is reuseable. By incorporating most of the mechanism into the main body, the number of parts that are used in the refill is reduced. This has improved the efficient use of resources and cost performance.

■ Shake correction skeleton head
