Tombow Pencil Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Kita-ku, Tokyo, President: Akihiro Ogawa) won the reddot design award 2024 for two products that were released last year: a retractable ultra-low viscosity ballpoint pen (0.5/0.7mm ball) and a retractable mechanical pencil “ZOOM C1” (suggested retail price 7,700 JPY/7,000 JPY excluding tax) and a cap-type water-based gel ballpoint pen “ZOOM L1” (suggested retail price 4,400 JPY/4,000 JPY excluding tax). The two award-winning products are the mainstays of a series of new style, limitless writing instruments, rebranded last year from “ZOOM” launched in 1986, aiming to be a “contemporary design pen from Japan”.
We are greatly encouraged that the prestigious reddot design award 2024, one of the world’s three major design awards*, has awarded the global crown to “ZOOM design” from Japan.
