Tombow Pencil Co., Ltd. will carry out an Instagram illustration posting campaign “Let’s Launch Fireworks Together” for one month starting July 26th. The illustration theme is “Fireworks”. Any art materials such as colored pencils or markers are acceptable, but please submit hand-drawn works. You can apply by posting with the #トンボFUNARTテーマ and #FUNARTHANABI hashtags.
This time, singer-songwriter Ai Otsuka will participate as a guest, create an illustration and also serve as a judge. In addition the works of the participants will be released as a special movie with Ai Otsuka’s song “Kingyo Hanabi” (to be released around the end of September). With Ai Otsuka, let’s everyone set off the “fireworks” of hand-drawn art this summer and together liven up this summer.
Prize-winning works will receive gifts.
Entries will be accepted from July 26th (Wednesday) to August 31st (Thursday).

Ai Otsuka
Born September 9, 1982 in Osaka Prefecture. Blood type O.
She started writing lyrics and composing from the age of 15, and made her major debut on September 10, 2003 with the single ” Momo no Hanabira (Peach Blossom Petals)”.
The 2nd single “Sakurambo (Cherry)” released in December of the same year was a big hit.
In 2004, she won the Best New Artist Award at the Japan Record Awards, and made her first appearance at the NHK Kouhaku Uta Gassen (NHK Red and White Year-end Song Festival).
In addition to her activities as a singer-songwriter, she is active as an illustrator, a picture book author, providing music, contributing to novels, etc.
In recent years she has begun oil painting in earnest and has been exhibiting her works.
In September 2023 she will celebrate the 20th anniversary of her debut, and on September 9th of the same year, she will hold her annual anniversary and birthday live performance. https://avex.jp/ai/
