New products released by Tombow Pencil Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Kita-ku, Tokyo, President: Akihiro Ogawa), we are pleased to announce winning the Japan Design Promotion Association. Two products “Pit Air” and “Irojiten 36 Color Select Set” were awarded the “Good Design Award” (2019)
The award-winning “Pit Air” was released in June 2019 as a glue tape that has surprisingly light tape application and has unprecedented adhesive strength. The award-winning “Irojiten 36 Color Select Set” was released in October 2018 with a set of 36 colored pencils that allow for easy drawing of familiar scenes such as landscapes, plants, and animals. It is a highly appreciated latest addition to the series.
We believe that both products have captured the needs of users and delivered satisfaction from purchase through use, and which led to this year’s Good Design Award.

Focusing anew on workability in stationery that has undergone various evolutions such as new functions and structures, and establishing a feeling of use with less burden even for long hours of work is a legitimate evolution as a tool that is user friendly. In a type of stationery such as glue tape, it was evaluated that fine evolution such as lightness of application and ease of refilling could result in a great reduction in the burden of use.

In addition to that, not only the number of types of colors but also colors collected from nature suitable for drawing flowers, animals, mountain landscapes, etc. are prepared, and users who draw pictures.
