Mechanical pencils ：Why is there no pin attached to mechanical pencils

Lead often got broken in the past because for its firmness, that was why a cleaner pin was attached to remove the leftover of the lead in the barrel. At present, the firmness of the lead has been improved. Pin is no necessary as the lead of mechanical pencils becomes difficult to break.
